What would you ask if you knew the people in the (zoom) room “got it”? That they’d understand all too well what you mean when you say that you’re not sure what you desire. That they, too, always secretly wanted to know the factual sex ed they never got growing up.
Welcome to Not Your Crumpled Flower. In this 8 week series, you will get to learn alongside others who are exploring what intimacy + sexuality can look like when it centers pleasure, self-advocacy, and making space for your authentic self.
NYCF was created by a Certified Sexuality Educator + coach who grew up queer and in the purity culture of Catholicism for 19 years. Believe me, I know that unlearning purity culture can be a journey.

you are tired of feeling purity culture's judgment in your head every time you try to date, flirt, or have sex.
you know that the sex ed you got was filled with misinformation and shamey values but wading through google for accurate information? It's so overwhelming that you just close the tab.
you're pretty positive you don't believe the judgmental and rigid values around sex and gender you were raised with. You want to figure out what values feel authentic and right for who you want to be.

Is this group virtual or in person?
Virtual! Meetings will be held over a password protected video platform!
Will this group be confidential?
We aim to protect the privacy of participants through use of a password protected meeting link. Participants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before our first meeting to protect the stories + identities of all participants.
I have a conflict one of the dates. Can I still participate?
You can! We will record the meetings so you can catch up on any content you’ve missed.
I’m actively religious. Will this be filled with people bashing religion?
Nope, not at all! Folks join this group from countless places on their spiritual + religious journeys. Some who participate have moved away from religion, others are active members in their religions of origin. Others exist in the “I’m not sure how I relate to religion right now” space! In this group, we acknowledge that being in a loving and safe relationship with anyone (whether another person or a faith tradition) means wanting their growth and health.
Whether you are entering this group with grief + anger at the role religion has played for you or with curiosity in how you can reconcile purity culture’s harm with all the gifts religion has brought you, you have a place here.
My job as your facilitator is to hold space for everyone’s journey, while protecting our shared space as one that isn’t alienating anyone for the particular way their journey shows up.
Do I have to be raised in religion to attend?
Nope! While religion may have added a specific flavor to your experience of purity culture, many of us have experienced its pressures, messages, and impacts just by exisiting around it.
How much does it cost?
The cost for all 8 weeks is $450. If you’d like to break your payments up separately, note it in your application and we’ll make it happen! Sliding scale is available for QTPOC and SWers. I want this series to be accessible to you! You can pay the whole thing in one go, or you can break the amount intoinstallment payments! No extra $ added on.
