Support your clients holistically

with the expertise + partnership of a sexuality specialist

Why partner with a certified sexuality educator + coach?

Sexuality is a lifelong part of the human experience. Yet, most of us were never given the information, support, or space to identify how to move through this part of our lives with confidence and joy.

In fact, in a survey of 1,500 Americans ages 18 to 44, 90% of respondents said that their sex education had not prepared them for real-world sexual experiences.

Even the world’s providers infrequently get the information needed to best support their patients and clients in this area of life.

The average medical student receives 10 hours of sexuality education.

Most mental health masters programs provide an average of 1 course on sexuality. And yet, around 30% of people will experience sexual difficulties throughout life.

Sexual health concerns, desire discrepancies, and sexual shame brought on by society’s harmful messaging will enter your office with your clients.

You and your clients deserve access to the skills and expertise of a certified sexuality professional.

Upcoming Trainings

  • Most adults will experience at least one sexual difficulty at some point in their life. Yet, even for the most seasoned therapist, conversations around sexual health and sexuality can feel intimidating.

This workshop is designed to replace some of that fear with confidence and concrete skills! In this four hour training, participants will explore a diversity of sexual values systems, learn sex ed essentials (turns out, it’s more than reproduction + STIs!), and begin a plan to cultivate the culture of sex-positivity they wish to create in their therapeutic spaces.

    July 31st, 2025 from 9am-1pm.

    CE credit endorsement pending

  • First things first: you are a phenomenal therapist. Whether you see individuals, couples, polycules, or families, you excel at building a therapeutic context where folks can practice conflict in healthy ways, explore deep healing work, and grow authentically and sustainably.

The only tricky thing? That one semester in grad school on sex, gender, + sexuality didn't exactly leave you confident in navigating sex-focused conversations when they enter the room. To be fair, one course on sex, gender, + sexuality is not nearly enough to cover the expansive ways these things show up in your clients' experiences. Plus, most of us didn't get stellar sex education ourselves! You don't want to be a sex therapist, per se, but you do want to feel confident in the knowledge, resources, and skills required to engage in these conversations with clients, as they arise.

Allow this course to be your foundational learning (and unlearning) resource! Through this self-paced course, you will be able to...

    • Understand evidence-based + shame-free sex education essentials to build your knowledge base (Turns out, it's more than reproduction + STIs)

    • Identify your personal sexual value system, so that you can notice and bracket it in real time during sessions, making more space for clients to identify their own

    • Recognize and clarify common sex + sexual health myths that add to a culture of sexual shame

    • Practice necessary skills to integrate sex-positive approaches to conversations with clients + answer sexuality questions with confidence

    • Break down the foundations of desire, sexual identity, and gender identity with cultural competence and humility

    • Utilize the massive (and ever-growing) resource guide provided in this course, so that as you and your clients keep learning, you can trust that the support you seek is coming from trusted and vetted sources

    • Help clients work through the provided worksheets, activities, and reflection prompts with integrity and understanding.

  • “Veronica is an incredible resource. On several occasions, I encountered a situation with a client that was outside my knowledge and expertise, and felt lost about what resources to provide my clients or where to begin learning to expand my own competence. Veronica was quick to provide the exact resources and information I needed. I trust that I can refer clients to her for trauma-informed sex and intimacy coaching, while I continue to work with them on other clinical issues.”

    -Jane Saffles-Granville, LCSW

  • “Sex and intimacy education was absolutely not a part of my graduate training, and it's really has required a lot of intentional learning and effort on my part. Like so many areas, I was a bit unsure where to start and where to find the affirming, consent centered education I was looking for. Consulting with Veronica, who is frankly brilliant in this area, has supported me in being able to process with and support my clients in these areas. She has also been an excellent resource in supporting therapists that I supervise, in providing incredibly valuable insight and information about how we can think about the impacts of intimacy and/or the lack thereof - from an inclusive and affirming lense.”

    -Erica Smith, MSW, LCSW

How is this different from therapy?

Great question! A lot of therapists absolutely support their clients in working toward their future goals, in addition to processing emotions and deep healing. Coaching can be the perfect complement to therapy. While you support your clients therapeutically, you can trust that their sex + intimacy coaching will be filled with trauma-informed + affirming education, goal-setting, and tangible, sustainable plans to reach their specific intimate goals.

Plus, An AASECT certification means you can trust that your clients are receiving sexuality education and coaching from The Dress Rehearsal that is up to date on the sexuality issues impacting your clients today, with a committment to continued education that supports them tomorrow. We love to learn!

A few more nuanced details:

  • Coaching is not a replacement for therapy (we aren’t mental health professionals!), but an awesome, subject-specific supplement. If self-discovery was a college course, coaching would be the lab! That is, a place to really get into the weeds of “how” to get to where you want to grow with a subject matter expert. Sexuality coaches provide tangible actions, offer creative thought partnership, and targeted work on sexuality goals and obstacles.

  • Coaches focus on the client’s present, their future goals, and collaborate on identifying tangible actions to get them there in sustainable, authentic ways. Coaches do not process emotions or trauma, but acknowledge them as important context.
